The focus on “touching cities” is timely. Hong Kong is a city where multiple legacies of Chinese, British, American, South and Southeast Asian, African, and other histories and identities have converged. The intentional intermixing of an art-project across disparate city-cultures can yield significant insight and community linkages. Cross-border dialogue through the arts  can foster new ways of communicating and an important thread in the "touching cities" cycle will be on  a performance research series on water, its links to cultural heritage, and our contemporary city-scapes.
