Welcome to our Pier Windows blog!

Hong Kong lights up as the night falls over Victoria Harbor and Pier Windows, an interactive performance at the Kwun Tong Pier, will open toward the marvelous. With the participation of musicians, dancers, and visual artists from Hong Kong, India, and the US—as well as local community participation—the piece seeks your participation.

The spectrality of naamyam and electronic music will float across the harbor; dancers will call forth the mysteries of water; windows will frame the city, frame the pier, will frame the time of our togetherness; and visual installations will evoke the marvelous.

Arts and community engagement with multi-ethnic Hong Kong through experiments in dance, music, and visual arts will broaden our experience of the impact of diverse cultural heritages on the contemporary identity of city.

You can participate in many ways. 1) Please let us know if you would like further information about the project and the artists involved. 2) We are, as well, looking for volunteers or interns who would like to join the project and provide help and/or expertise in visual art installation construction, video documentation, stage management, and tech crew, and interactive media for the theatre. 3) We are looking for those organizations with related interests who would like to know more about our project, invite us to give a talk, do a lecture-demo, or even a performance, or who would like to discuss the various scales of sponsorship, in return for being featured on our program and project materials. 4) Of course, stay tuned right here on our blog for further details on the artists; the works-in-progress; our tales of the nitty-gritty, the reflective, the unexpected and, at times cryptic, meanderings of our work; and what we learn and discover and we hear from each of you as our project community grows.  5) All this participation will lead to exciting outreach events that we will be engaged in, and, the program itself—Pier Windows!

Join us as we build a truly exciting project—Pier Windows! Bring the marvelous with you.
